The Vancouver (YVR) Airport vs.
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/yvr-91-birthday
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vancouver_International_Airport By now YVR should have had at least three 3600m or 11,800 foot runways.Runways | |||||||||||||||||||

Even though the Seattle airport has a smaller area than Vancouver, it was able to have 3 runways long enough to accomodate the 747 & the largest Airbus.

Truck explodes on the edge of downtown Seattle, closing large sections of Interstate 5
Five towers up to 52 storeys with 2,200 homes eyed for Surrey City Centre
Surrey could have the first 70 story residential building in BC and have the first 50 story office tower in BC. However, BC is still all about holding things back.
Iconic Vancouver office tower celebrates 50 years of history
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/td-tower-downtown-vancouver-plaza-50th-anniversary
Instead of the city permitting a 60 floor office tower, it's just another 30 story stump.
So far, no office building in Vancouver has been allowed to have a 40th floor.
Vancouver City Council directs city staff to explore taller buildings for West End
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/vancouver-city-council-explore-west-end-taller-buildings
This view cone and shadowing crap has gone well over the top, but it all helps to hold Vancouver back as a provincial backwater. So far, no residential building in Vancouver has been allowed to have 65 floors. No Vancouver office building has been allowed to have 40 floors.

A push for even more street congestion madness in Vancouver.
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/broadway-plan-bike-lanes-options-design-vancouver
8th Avenue as well as 10th Avenue are already bike routes. Broadway should remain 6 to 7 lanes wide. However, the small town planners almost want to go back to wagon roads.
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/broadway-vancouver-great-street-amendment
Real cities are allowed to have some wide streets. However the, KEEP VANCOUVER SMALL AND CONGESTED agenda isn't being challenged enough. There is an overall narrow-minded power-structure that continually wants to thwart Vancouver. Its been that way for generations.
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/broadway-road-redesign-vancouver-subway-great-street
For some it's, why have a wide street when a narrow one is more symbolic of the narrow-minded agenda?
The Stack: Metro Vancouver's new tallest office tower nears completion
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/the-stack-1133-melville-street-office-construction-update
Over 400 feet shorter than the tallest office tower in Seattle and Toronto. Not even half of the height of the tallest office tower in SF.
The Top 50 Container Ports
https://www.worldshipping.org/top-50-ports
Its amazing to see what real port cities can do, simply because they aren't under the control of Vancouver & BC.
https://www.icontainers.com/top-20-ports-in-the-world
In spite of Canada being the second largest country in area, its nowhere close to even having 1% of the worlds population.

Port of Vancouver is the world's 3rd worst port for efficiency and performance
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/port-of-vancouver-global-ranking-shipping-delays-bottleneck
But that fits right in with the low standard for BC.
https://mfame.guru/port-of-vancouver-is-the-worlds-3rd-worst-port
For some reason, Vancouver & BC can't seem to get other major ports around the world to adhere to the same inept standards.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10118457/Californias-ports-rated-worst-world-falling-world-countries.html But at least no one from BC was able to stop their infrastructure from being built on a grand scale.
Buses first, SkyTrain maybe later
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/north-shore-rapid-transit-bus-rapid-transit-park-royal-metrotown-brt
To not even build a proper bus and train bridge is another example of Vancouver ineptness that fits right in with the Backwater BC mentality.
Metro Vancouver's industrial space vacancy is still North America's lowest
https://dailyhive.com/vancouver/metro-vancouver-industrial-space-vacancy-june-2022
There are so many things that are preventing this part of Canada from having a proper metropolis.
Toronto, the quietly booming tech town
https://www.seattletimes.com/business/toronto-the-quietly-booming-tech-town
Toronto never was taken over by anything like Vancouverism. If Toronto was was enveloped with Vancouver type restrictions, it would also be a stunted city, just like Vancouver, BC is.
